Return to Normalcy?

A couple of weeks ago, I reminded by my dear friends Jay and Julie that I have been negligent in writing blog posts--especially my concert reviews for the Doobies/Bad Company show and last month's CrueFest 2. Of course, they are right that I have been MIA lately and I am touched that they actually read some of this drivel. Okay, it's not quite drivel, but I kind of like listening to the sound of that word...drivel...drivel...drivel...

Oh, wait, I was in the middle of making some excuses for my lack of posts...I could say that I decided to wait until I had something interesting to write, but I think it is really about four letters: B-U-S-Y. Yes, yes, I am aware that's what every adult says, but it is a sad but true (unintentional Metallica reference!) fact of life. My job (my day job, that is) is quite hectic in the fall, so many long days plus exhaustion have put me in a state where I only want to so things that require few brain cells...like rereading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows for the 3rd or 4th time or getting hooked on Lost by watching season 1 episodes from the 'net.

I actually have some grand ideas for some posts, but since the hour is getting late and tomorrow is (ugh!) a workday, I shall share them with you when there is more time to write and when I wean myself from watching Lost--just kidding on the latter. For now, I can give you a few teasers:

1. Reasons why Godsmack is an underrated band (and shouldn't be)
2. Motley Crue--over-the-hill or still rockin'?
3. My trips down memory lane: ex. my friend high school friend Kali's mantra of "Ian Astbury is God", young love accompanied by the discovery of Rush, and much more.

Since I am in a list-y mood I shall close this evening with my "favorite CDs right now to play in my yuppie mom station wagon with all of the windows rolled down":

1. Metallica--S&M (heavy metal and classical music are more alike than not)
2. Buckcherry--15 (yep, some of their lyrics are naughty, but they sure do rock)
3. The Cult--Electric (NEVER get tired of hearing Wildflower over and over and over again)

You know, if anyone has ideas, questions, debates, etc. PLEASE feel free to chime in as this blog is more interesting with a bit of "audience participation" in it...

Until next time, keep it on "11"(and check out my new "Stuff to Look Forward To" list on the right hand side of the blog entries)....
